Patients often worry they will never be able to do “that” activity again or move without pain. We take a different view.
Tell us what activities are important to you and we will design an individualized care plan to get you back doing them and achieving related goals. We focus on building strength, mobility, and movement tolerance, all with a fitness-forward approach designed for you and your specific needs.
Each individualized care plan is built around our three-step process: Root, Restore, Reload.

"I started working with Eric to address hip/lower back and shoulder pain. I noticed a significant improvement in my symptoms very quickly after starting to work with him. He pinpointed the issue and provided a solid plan to move forward with exercises to do on my own and how to plan for specific movements in the gym. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a physical therapist!"
- Sue Irvine
"Eric is THE best physical therapist I have ever consulted. Seek him if you're looking for a PT. I am a 29-year-old taekwondo martial artist who came to Eric for a high-grade ankle sprain from a sparring competition. I was worried if I could ever return to the sport at my usual intensity. Eric relaxed those concerns and immediately proposed a challenging yet manageable routine to recover my strength and range of motion. At each follow-up, Eric checks on the progress of my ankle, we go through some challenging exercises that will strengthen various muscle groups, and Eric leaves me with an updated routine so that I know exactly what I should be strengthening until my next visit. What’s especially great is that he targets the body holistically and not just at the local injury site; in my case, he also gave me workouts to strengthen my hips, quads, and calves to help stabilize my ankle. Just under 3 months, I’m already back to sparring with other martial artists."
- Andrew Kang
"Eric was my PT when he worked in Chicago in 2021. I came to him with pain in my neck and right shoulder. His ability to quickly assess and evaluate my situation and to begin treatment and exercises that provided almost immediate relief was amazing. Eric listens well, remembers what you tell him, quickly applies his vast knowledge of the body to determine how to best treat you, explains things clearly, and works with you closely to make sure you have a good grasp of the exercises and can continue them in good form and to maximum effect on your own. And Eric is friendly and a great communicator to boot! I highly recommend Urban Physical Therapy."
- Joseph Le Beau
"Eric was awesome. He got me back from a sprained ankle and hairline fracture back to running a marathon I was ready to give up on after my injury. He was a perfect balance of optimism while still being realistic. Fully recommend to anyone but especially athletes."
- Teddy Wolf
"Eric helped me overcome two injuries that had been limiting my activity for over a decade, I highly recommend working with him if you have any physical issues bothering you."
- Robert Shepherd
"I can't speak highly enough of Urban Physical Therapy. Eric provides exceptional care that is thoughtful, creative, and effective. He is extremely knowledgeable, and I credit his therapy sessions and ongoing encouragement for the significant progress I have made in my recovery. He helped me to achieve goals that I didn't think were possible. I would highly recommend Urban Physical Therapy for anyone in need of a PT."
